Beyonce Reveals Pain of Her Miscarriage

Any woman who has ever been through a miscarriage knows how brutally painful it can be. It is literally the death of your child—a part of you gone forever, a child whose cheeks you will never get to kiss. In her upcoming documentary that airs on HBO (Feb. 16), Life Is But A Dream, Beyonce reveals that the pain pushed her into the recording studio. We know that she thankfully soon got pregnant again with Blue Ivy, so that makes this a bit easier to read.

“About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time. And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life. I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like… I was feeling very maternal. I flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat. [And then] I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life, and it was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me.”

Even though we don’t realize it those visions will always be in your head. My son is two now and i stll think mmmm… my other baby would have been 3 I don’t dwell on it or go into some depression or anything but when life grows inside of you, it’s kinda hard to forget 🙂

  4. Truly, everyone’s pain is different, but I can’t relate to a miscarriage. I can, however, relate to hearing a heartbeat, seeing the baby growing on the ultrasound at every checkup, feel her moving around inside my body, and have my water break too early at 6 months. I had to stay in the hospital and stay strapped to a monitor for 9 days, went into premature labor, gave birth to an absolutely beautiful 2 lb 2oz, itty bitty baby, see her fight for her life for 13 days and then pass away. I praise God that I got to hold her, touch her, hug her, love on her for that 13 days. My heart goes out to those who never got do that, but seeing your baby dying is just as sad. Everything happens for a reason and I thank God every day for my 2nd daughter, who is as healthy as a horse and I don’t take that for granted.
