Hands down, the best informational breastfeeding video, like, ever—not just because it cribs the beat from Teach Me How To Dougie, or even because it’s chock full of pitch-perfect information for new moms on the how-to’s and benefits of breastfeeding. iHeart this bad boy because it features a grip of African American mothers giving their babies pure gold: breastmilk. Got me tingling a little bit—missing on feeding, nurturing, nuzzling and loving on my babies. Press play. And share it with your networks on the Twitter and Facebook to spread the news that Black moms DO breastfeed, particularly as we celebrate the inaugural Black Breastfeeding Week 2013.

You have UrbanMatriarch to thank for this! On her YouTube post she says the song and video were inspired both by her journey as a breastfeeding educator and her own breastfeeding journey. “We had fun making the video and hope you enjoy it,” she added. “Happy Breastfeeding.”

And don’t forget that MyBrownBaby will be kicking it on Twitter with our folk, celebrated writer dream hampton and Lamar Tyler of the award-winning BlackandMarriedWithKids.com in a vibrant twitter chat on African American parents and why #BlackLivesMatter. Follow the hashtag on August 29th, 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST for what I promise you will be a great discussion.

*snaps fingers* All da babies luv it. All da, All da babies luv it. All da babies love it/You ain’t messin wit my breast milk!

  1. Girl!!! I Love this!! I can’t wait to re-post!

  2. I wish I had known about this site when I was breast feeding and could’ve used that extra motivation…but those days are gone now. However, I will refer friends that are currently breast feeding. Great, fun teaching tool!

  3. Oh my goodness, this video is everything!!!

  4. LOVE this!!! Educational AND entertaining. Although I’m pretty sure the hook is going to be stuck in my head for the next week – “Teach me how to breastfeed, Teach, teach me how to breastfeed”! 🙂
