I was a brown baby and now I am raising brown babies.
My name is Jasmine Banks and I am the managing editor of MyBrownBaby.com The conversation around Black motherhood and raising Black children is not only a conversation that I am passionate about, it is a conversation that I am unable to separate from my identity. I am a mother of three amazing kids (and yes my babies are cuter than yours). I am happy to join the staff at MyBrownBaby.com as managing editor because we live in a world that often disregards the power and beauty of Black motherhood and raising Black children. It is time we reclaim the beauty of OUR stories. I welcome pitches that give voice to the Black and African American motherhood experience and explore the breadth and depth of our diverse experiences. Get at me, yo: write me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When I am not curating stories for MyBrownBaby, I am over at JustJasmineBlog.com on that social justice tip and also working for Postpartum Progress, fighting stigma in maternal mental health. Let me just say that I believe in the collective power and beauty of Black folks and women. You can find me Instagram or follow me Twitter.
