Bad Breath & Weak Handshakes: Denene Gives Tips On Handling Awkward Situations On the Today Show

by Denene@MyBrownBaby on March 25, 2011

As many of you know by now, I occasionally give expert advice on child-rearing, relationships and etiquette on the Today show. I stopped in earlier this week to lend my advice on how to deal with awkward social situations. {Note to the wise: Never congratulate a woman on her pregnancy unless you’ve triple confirmed that she is, indeed, preggers. #commonsense.}

Watch the video and tell me if you agree with my advice on the other side. Enjoy!

Owww! I was trying to focus on what you were saying, but the bounce-factor on your flat-ironed do was hogging my attention!!! I’m sure you said awesome things, but the hair–FLYNESS!

Ugh. I have totally make that pregnancy congrats mistake. Oh, embarrassment does not even begin to express the awkwardness. And the ‘victim’ was distant family, so every time we have a reunion, I am reminded of that faux pas.

Oooh… sorry girl! Just do yourself a favor and don’t bring it up again. If she does, then just apologize again and move on to another subject. Quickly.
