Jennifer Hudson’s Grammy Awards Tribute To Whitney Houston (Video)

LL Cool J’s move to open the Grammy Awards 2012 show with a prayer for Whitney Houston was touching, and Alicia Keys was right to declare that last night’s feting of music’s best and brightest should be a celebration of her life, but Jennifer Hudson’s tribute rendition of Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” dedicated to her musical mentor, was astoundingly beautiful and perfect in every way. Simple, spare and eloquently executed, J-Hud’s unique and flavorful delivery of Whitney’s signature song was the perfect exclamation point on the one thing we all know to be true: Whitney Houston’s voice was a life force of its own. There will be no other.
