You know I got the goods: here’s an exclusive MyBrownBaby sneak peek at a scene in Lifetime’s new original movie, “With This Ring,” featuring Jill Scott and Jason W. George as “Vivian” and “Sean,” the couple I created in “The Vow,” the novel on which the film is based.
Watch the clip and then raise your hand if you’ve been here before: you really like a guy, you go all out to do something special for him, he’s completely clueless/doesn’t give a rat’s hairy patootie about the fact that you did all this for him, and he bounces, leaving you alternately wanting him more and thinking of several creative ways to shank him in the kidney.
Not that I know anything about this. Ahem.
An aside: this scene is one of the scenes my co-author, Angela Burt-Murray of CocoaFab.com, and I saw when we visited the set of “With This Ring” back in August. I’ll tell you today the same thing I said back then: walking onto the set and seeing Vivian and Sean doing that awkward tug-of-war in their relationship was all kinds of surreal, particularly given that the scene looked doggone near exactly like I’d imagined it in my head when I penned my chapters back in 2004.
This is a total score for Nzingha Stewart, who both wrote the screenplay and directed the film. And a total score for me, Angela, who wrote the “Trista” character, portrayed by Regina Hall and Mitzi Miller, who breathed life into Amaya.
Yes, yes y’all!
