Dig it: I’ve rejiggered my Bucket List to include meeting Kid President. I want to pinch his cheeks. And give him a great, big ‘ol Auntie MyBrownBaby hug. And tell him how happy he makes me. And my entire world. Especially when he posts deliciously sweet, insanely inspirational messages like “The World Can Be Better,” his latest offering on SoulPancake, the YouTube channel where Kid President shares his awesome.

In “The World Can Be Better,” Kid President teams up with The Gregory Brothers to create a song for #Socktober, a fundraiser SoulPancake and Kid President launched this month to help the homeless. Their goal is to get 1 million people to prove that “even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of the homeless.” On the Socktober site, Kid President encourages folks to let go of the Candy Crush, take a break from uploading selfies on Facebook, stop Twitter-stalking Miley Cyrus and use their internet powers for good to collect socks and cash for the needy and donate it to their local homeless shelters. As part of the fundraiser, “The World Can Be Better,” featuring Kid President’s uplifting songified message encouraging all of us to “keep going, keep going, keep going” no matter how tough the road, is being sold on iTunes; proceeds will go toward building a safe place for homeless women and children in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Seriously, is Kid President the man or what?!

  1. The Kid President is the absolute BESTEST!! I love this little guy. I wish all grown ups would have the attitude that he has. Watching him smile and inspire others even though he has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) is such a testiment to his little heart. I need to add meeting him to my bucket list as well. I want to be like The Kid President when I grow up!!
